Sometimes users may not find the Exchange Management shell after installing SP1 for Exchange 2010. In this blog, We will discuss easy steps to resolve the issue. Our Problem Exchange Management Shell (EMS) is not there after the installation of Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Exchange Server 2010. Main Causes This generally happens due to the missing of .ps1 Script from the bin directory at the time of installation of Exchange Server.
1). Make sure that these files CommonConnectFunctions.ps1, ConnectFunctions.ps1 and RemoteExchange.ps1 should be present in the %ExchangeInstallPath%\bin directory. In case if these files are not present in the directory then paste these files from Exchange Server Service pack 1. 2). Then go to the Desktop, Right Click here and select New, from here click on the Shortcut. 3). Now type the path given below in the Option 4). Save the Shortcut file by the name Exchange Management Shell & Click on the Finish. 5). Now open the properties of the created shortcut “Exchange Management Shell” by right clicking on it and delete text from Start in field. 6). On the Shortcut Tab, Click on Change Icon and then click on Browse and enter the text given below.
7). After that select the icon for Exchange and click on OK button. 8). Now click on Apply to apply the setting and after that click on OK. 9). After performing all steps mentioned above, paste the EMS Shortcut to the location given below:
